Approximately 1 in 8 students in California schools has at least one parent who is undocumented, according to a new brief from the Education Trust-West. And, with recent immigration enforcement guidelines now authorizing the expedited deportation of millions of undocumented immigrants previously deemed as low priorities for removal, nearly one million children are now faced with the credible threat of their parents being taken away. In this timely Web Talk learn how you can support families to protect their children in the event of deportation and review steps parents can take to ensure the proper care and well-being of their children should they be removed from the United States. Additional topics will include the use of a Caregiver Affidavit and Probate Guardianship as options.
