A Strategies Center Event

“Early childhood is both the most critical and the most vulnerable time in any child’s development.” (Brazelton and Greenspan, 2000) The foundation for intellectual, social, emotional, and moral development is established during this time. Family child care providers play an important role in protecting and caring for young children. They are in a unique position to help parents recognize and build protective factors as their children grow and develop.
Family child care providers and others working with young children are encouraged to attend this half-day workshop in which participants will:
- Learn about the Strengthening Families Framework.
- Become familiar with foundational ideas of the Strengthening Families approach.
- Be able to name and define the protective and promotive factors.
- Have ideas and tools to use in their own lives and in their work settings with families and children.
- Incorporate protective everyday actions and strategies into their work.
